What does ACH stand for?
Automated Clearing House (also referred to as ACH) is the network that processes electronic financial transactions in the United States. This contains large volumes of credit and debit transactions in batches from a variety of different types of organizations and businesses. Examples of ACH credit transactions would include direct deposit payroll and payments to vendors made electronically. ACH direct debit transfer examples include consumer payments on things like insurance premiums, mortgage loans, cell phone bills and other monthly types of expenses. Debit transactions also include new applications such as the Point-of-Purchase (POP) with debit and/or ATM cards or electronic check conversions where the merchant scans your check, converts it to an ACH item and then gives your check back to you.

What is CDARS?
CDARS, pronounced like the tree "cedars", stands for Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service. This service provides customers with multi-million dollar FDIC Insurance coverage, so even the largest of depositors can be assured their money is insured and protected.

What is FDIC insurance and what does it mean for my accounts?
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is a United States government corporation created by the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933. It provides deposit insurance, which guarantees the safety of deposits in member banks, currently up to $250,000* per depositor per bank. The FDIC also examines and supervises certain financial institutions for safety and soundness, performs certain consumer-protection functions, and manages failed banks. Insured institutions (like Range Bank) are required to place signs at their place of business stating that "deposits are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government" and since the start of FDIC insurance on January 1, 1934, no depositor has lost a single cent of insured funds as a result of a failure.

*As an interesting side note, with Range Bank's CDARS program, customers can obtain multi-million dollar FDIC insurance protection, making it possible to insure funds beyond the typical FDIC limits.

What should I do if my debit card is lost or stolen?
If you find that your debit card is lost or stolen, please report it as soon as possible.
During normal business hours, please call your local Range Bank office to report your debit card lost or stolen. Visit our Range Bank locations page to look up your local office.

After business hours, please call (888) 297-3416 to report your card lost or stolen.

Reporting a Lost/Stolen Debit Card within the Range Bank Mobile App
You can report your debit card is lost or stolen 24 hours a day from the Range Bank mobile app. If you have permanently lost your debit card, navigate to the manage cards section on your dashboard or in a specific account and click 'report lost/stolen'. You will need to contact your local Range Bank office to order a new card.

Reporting a Lost/Stolen Card with Range Bank Online Banking
You can report your debit card is lost or stolen 24 hours a day with Range Bank Online Banking. If you have permanently lost your debit card, sign on to the online banking website and navigate to the accounts tab. Select the account that your debit card is associated with, and then select the debit card and click 'Report Lost/Stolen'. You will need to contact your local Range Bank office to order a new card.

Can I raise my debit card limit?
Yes, contact your nearest Range Bank office to request a debit card limit increase.

How current is the information displayed in Online Banking?
The available balance for checking and savings accounts is "real-time" and will change throughout the day based on your activity. However, there may be items that will not be reflected in your balance until after the bank completes its nightly processing.

How do I know if my Range Bank debit card is Contactless?
Look for the contactless symbol   on your debit card. If your card does not have the symbol, it is not enabled for contactless payments.

Are Range Bank ATMs contactless?
Yes! All Range Bank ATMs are now contactless. When using an ATM in the Allpoint® network, look for the contactless symbol.

Where can I use my Range Bank Contactless Card?
You can tap to pay wherever you see the contactless symbol at checkout. Millions of merchants around the world accept contactless payments.

What are contactless payments?
Mastercard Contactless technology lets you make everyday purchases quickly and securely with just a tap of your contactless-enabled Mastercard debit card wherever you see the universal contactless symbol .

How does contactless work? Is it secure?
After you tap your contactless card at checkout, payment details are sent wirelessly to the Mastercard network.  Contactless payments are easy and secure. Just like transactions with a chip card, each contactless card transaction is accompanied by a one-time code that protects payment information.

How do I use my Range Bank Contactless Card at a retailer that is not yet contactless-enabled?
If you don’t see the contactless symbol , you can still use your contactless card by inserting or swiping your card.

Do I have to tap my card on the contactless-enabled checkout terminal?
No. You do not have to physically tap the card to the terminal, but your card should be within 1-2 inches of the contactless symbol.

Can I use my Range Bank Contactless Card when traveling internationally?
Yes. You can use your Range Bank contactless Mastercard debit card where Mastercard is accepted by tapping it at a contactless-enabled checkout terminal wherever you see the contactless symbol , or by inserting the card into a chip terminal, or by swiping the card in a magnetic stripe terminal.

What is My Financial Health?

My Financial Health is a feature available within the Range Bank digital banking platform that offers premium financial tools with enhanced control over your financial well-being.

Is there a fee for My Financial Health?

No! My Financial Health is a complimentary tool we offer at no cost to customers. There are additional features available via a premium version upgrade.  

I am concerned about privacy and how Range Bank is sharing my personal information to provide this service. What information are you sharing and is it safe?

At Range Bank, we understand how important privacy and data security are, and we are happy to clarify.

  • My Financial Health is a trusted service provider that we have a joint marketing agreement with to deliver this service to you.
  • While some information is shared with My Financial Health to provide this service, your information is safe and is only used for the services they provide. Your information is not sold or used for marketing purposes.  
  • If you would prefer not to use the service, we can unenroll you.

What features are available at no cost?

How do I view what is available with the premium version and enroll in the premium version?

  • From the My Financial Health widget, click the See more button.
  • This brings you to an expanded version of the My Financial Health tool.
  • Scroll down to the section titled Want additional protection and features?
  • The chart details what is available in the free and premium version.
  • Click Upgrade to Premium to upgrade.

How do I pay for the premium version?

When you enroll in premium, you can choose which account you would like the payment to come from. You can change the account at any time in the Manage Account section.

What if I close that account or don’t have enough funds to pay for it?

If for any reason a payment cannot go through, you will be downgraded to the basic version. You can enroll in the premium version again at any time and update the payment information.

Can I cancel the premium version?

Yes! You can cancel at any time by going to the Manage Account option in the menu on the My Credit Score landing page.

What if I don’t want to see the My Financial Health widget or don’t want the service?

If you would like to opt out of this free financial tool, please email support@rangebank.com. If you would like to move the My Financial Health widget on your dashboard or remove it entirely, click the Organize Dashboard button at the bottom of your screen (note that this does not unenroll you, it simply removes the visual from the screen).
